I think their motives are well founded. What they are doing is tinkering around the edges to make the best of a difficult situation. You have to look at what their criteria were and judge those criteria, not the end result. That there were surely political aspects and committee decisions involved is part of life.

What Are Kanji Radicals? What are radicals, exactly? More often than not, you will not be able to figure out the meaning of a kanji by knowing its radical. Bummer, I know! But a radical can help you to remember different kanji and to tell them apart. One of the most important functions of radicals is to categorize kanji and make them easier to look up. Most kanji dictionaries are listed by radical in order of stroke number.
So kanji with a radical with one stroke would come first. Kanji radicals go all the way from one stroke up to 17 strokes! Can you show me a radical already??? It is ALSO water! Some radicals have multiple forms depending on where they can be found in a kanji. These are known as modified radicals or radical variants. Altogether, there are 46 radicals with variations. But at least here there is a semantic connection. I have no idea what ears have to do with getting a job, but it seems important! In total, there are historical kanji radicals used in Japanese kanji.
While there are radicals, some radicals are far more common than others, and some are no longer used at all! But is the number most commonly used as radicals from the original KangXi dictionary. This is an excellent question, and a very hard one to answer. While the first letter of a word is easy to find duh! It is important to remember this, because even though a kanji may have three parts you recognize, only one of those parts is its radical. Oh Japanese, you always keep us on our toes!

N1 is the hardest level, considered near-fluent. N5 is the easiest level, covering the basic level of Japanese. To pass the JLPT N5 test, you have to be able to read Japanese at a basic level and understand simple conversations from daily life and school. You should know around vocabulary words. I recommend starting with the Core Japanese words , and about 50 basic grammar patterns.
